Booth Subsidy Initiative


Early Childhood Australia’s National Conference – ‘This is Childhood’ on 5-8 October 2016 marks the 30th Early Childhood Australia conference. The conference attracts over 1200 delegates, with up to 1500 delegates expected at the 2016 conference. The exhibition space at each conference is a popular part of the conference, attracting a range of exhibitors, many of whom exhibit at every ECA conference.

ECA is committed to supporting the diversity of individuals and organisations working to strengthen the wellbeing of young children. Our biennial National Conference is an important sector development event that provides opportunities for networking, professional development and information sharing.

ECA does, however, understand that exhibiting at the conference is prohibitive for some organisations. We recognise that some organisations may find it difficult to participate in the conference because of limited resources and/or long travel distances. To provide an opportunity and reduce barriers to participate at the 2016 Conference, ECA is offering a small number of subsidised exhibition booths, sponsored by Early Childhood Australia, to support organisations that otherwise would not be able to exhibit at the ECA Conference.

Details of the subsidised offer

ECA has set aside five (5) single exhibition booths available at a significantly reduced rate of $750 (inc. GST).

Eligibility criteria

Preference will be given to not-for-profit organisations, small organisations and voluntary groups.  

Selection criteria
  1. Demonstrate a social purpose related to the rights and well-being of young children;
  2. Outline the potential value to the conference and its delegates of your exhibit; and
  3. Explain why you would be unable to exhibit at the conference without the subsidy. 

All suitable applicants will be eligible for consideration for the reduced exhibition booth at a cost of $750 (inc. GST) to exhibit at the ECA National Conference 2016 ‘This is Childhood’. Successful applicants receive a discount of $1950; a significant saving and a great opportunity to participate.


You must be prepared to attend the full 3 days of the conference, be available to meet with ECA and have photos taken for later inclusion in media and promotion by ECA and provide feedback on the conference and the value of the subsidy following the conference.

no later than COB AEST Monday 1 July 2016. Any applications after this date will not be considered.

Applications for a subsidy will be assessed after the closing date and all applicants will be notified of the final decision by COB AEST Friday 22 July 2016. The decision to provide a subsidy is at the discretion of ECA and following announcement of the decision ECA will not enter into discussion with unsuccessful applicants to justify the decision.

Booth specifications


One complimentary staff pass, including catering for one person for the duration of the Conference.  Additional staff passes can be purchased for $250 pp.
