Q: When is the 2008 Early Childhood Australia Conference being held?
A: 3–6 October 2008.
Q: Where is the 2008 conference being held?
A: National Convention Centre, Canberra.
Q: Is it too late to submit an abstract to present at the conference?
A: The Call for Papers has now closed. We are not accepting anymore abstracts.
Accommodation
Q: Can I book my accommodation through ECA?
A: Yes. Accommodation can be selected on the conference registration form.
Q: How early should I book my accommodation?
A: As a result of Floriade, accommodation is limited. It is important that if you require accommodation, you book it early. Accommodation will not be available on the usual internet booking facilities.
Q: How many people can we fit in one hotel room?
A: The rates quoted are for a maximum of two persons in a room and a surcharge may apply for each additional person. Roll-out beds are available for an additional fee.
Q: What happens to my accommodation deposit if I cancel?
A: A cancellation fee may be applied by the venue if you cancel a reservation or in the event that you fail to arrive at the hotel on the arrival date that you booked. This is generally the cost of one night of accommodation.
Events
Q: How much does it cost to attend the Welcome Reception?
A: 1 (one) ticket is included in the Full delegate registration (Concession and Single day registration excluded), additional tickets can be purchased for $55 each.
Q: How much does it cost to attend the Conference Dinner?
A: Tickets are $100 per person.
Q: How much does it cost to attend Breakfast with the Stars?
A: Tickets are $60 per person. Places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first in’ basis.
Q: How much does it cost to attend a conference tour?
A: Tickets are $55 per person. Places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first in’ basis.
Exhibitors
Q: How much will it cost for an exhibition booth over the 3 days?
A: $2500.
Q: I am interested in exhibiting at the conference, who do I contact?
A: Exhibition booths are allocated first to sponsors, then in order of receipt of payment. Please call the Conference Secretariat on (02) 6242 1800 or email conference@earlychildhood.org.au

Registration
Q: I am a member of Early Childhood Australia, do I receive a discount on my conference registration?
A: Yes. Individual members receive 1 full discount, service members receive 1 full discount, organisation members receive 2 full discounts and concession members receive 1 concession discount.
Please note: to receive a discount you must be a current financial member of ECA and your member number must be shown on your registration form.
Q: Do I have to pay for the conference upfront?
A: Yes. Full payment of conference registration fees must accompany your registration. Registrations cannot be processed without payment.
Q: Where can I get a conference registration form?
A: The registration form can be downloaded from the registration page.
Q: I am not a member of ECA, can I still receive a registration discount?
A: No. The only way to receive a discount is to become a member. To do this you must complete the ‘Become an ECA Member’ section of your registration form.
Q: How can I register for the conference?
A: There are three ways you can register:

- Register by mail – payment should be made as a cheque drawn on an Australian bank account and made payable to Early Childhood Australia, or an international bank cheque payable in Australian Dollars (AUD) made payable to Early Childhood Australia, or an Australian money order made payable to Early Childhood Australia, or direct deposit to:

Please note: for direct deposits outside of Australia, you must add $20 for international transfer fees (all clearance costs are the responsibility of delegate).
- Register by fax – fax registration is only available to delegates using credit card payment (Visa or Mastercard). Fax both sides of the registration form to (02) 6242 1818 (if outside Australia please fax: +61 2 6242 1818).
Q: Can you take my registration details over the phone?
A: No. You must complete and sign the registration form, we cannot take any verbal registrations.
Q: Can you invoice me once you receive my registration form?
A: No. Full payment of conference registration fees must accompany your registration. Registrations cannot be processed without payment.
