HESTA Early Childhood Education and Care Awards Dinner – Sold Out!

People employed in the early childhood education and care sector work tirelessly to ensure the educational, social and emotional well-being of the littlest Australians.

HESTA recognises this contribution and that’s why – in conjunction with Early Childhood Australia – they are proud to present the HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards.

The awards celebrate the achievements of Australia’s best early childhood professionals. Educators, parents, carers, colleagues and early childhood education professionals can nominate themselves, a special individual or team who has made a real difference in the lives of children.

All finalists will be recognised at the HESTA Awards dinner to be held on Friday, 7 October 2016. Finalists have a chance to win $30,000 courtesy of proud awards sponsor ME.

Open to all delegates, partners and guests, the awards ceremony will be a night of celebration and recognition.

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

This is an optional social activity for delegates. As the sun dips into the Arafura Sea every Thursday and Sunday evening, most of Darwin descends on Mindil Beach; tables, chairs, rugs and eskies in tow. Food is the main attraction – Thai, Sri Lankan, Indian, Chinese and Malaysian to Brazilian, Greek Portuguese and more. Colourful arts and crafts vendors peddle their wares – handmade jewellery, natural remedies, artistic creations and unique fashion statements. Shop till you drop, catch a fire show, stop for a massage or be entertained by buskers, bands and talented performers as you wind you way through the palm line boulevards.

There will be no branch drinks for 2016, however we will offer a bus transfer from the Darwin Convention Centre (return) at $15 per person. The ticket excludes any meals and beverages. Buses will depart from DCC between 18:00 – 19:00 and return between 20:30 – 21:30. Otherwise you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements.

Date:  Thursday 6, October 2016
Bus to market:  18:00-19:00
Bus from market: 20:30-21.30
Cost:  $15 per person (Ticket only. Allow for transport between specific times noted)

Tickets can be purchased online during the conference registration process.
