Dr Cindy Blackstock

Dr Cindy Blackstock is Executive Director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada. She has 25 years of social work experience in child protection and Indigenous children’s rights.

Dr Stuart Shanker

Dr Stuart Shanker

Dr Stuart Shanker is a distinguished research professor emeritus of psychology and philosophy from York University. He is internationally sought for his expertise as an advisor on early child development and self-regulation.

Prof Paul Ramchandani

Professor Paul Ramchandani

Professor Paul Ramchandani is currently Professor of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Imperial College. Paul’s research focuses on early child development, particularly the prevention of emotional and behavioural problems in the early years of life.

Prof Kerry Arabena

Professor Kerry Arabena

Professor Kerry Arabena is Chair for Indigenous Health, and Director of the Indigenous Health Equity Unit at the University of Melbourne. A descendent of the Meriam people from the Torres Strait, she has a Doctorate in human ecology and a degree in social work.

Stan Grant

Stan Grant

Stan Grant is the Indigenous Affairs Editor for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and special advisor to the Prime Minister on Indigenous constitutional recognition. Stan is a multi-awarding winning current affairs host, author and adventurer with more than 30 years of journalism experience.

Applications are now open for the highly regarded ECA awards, including the Barbara Creaser Memorial Lecture, Barbara Creaser Young Advocate Award and the ECA Doctoral Thesis Award. The awards recipients will be announced during the 2018 ECA National Conference.

Welcome reception

The HESTA Early Childhood Education and Care Awards Dinner is back for the 2018 ECA National Conference! The awards recognise the educators and carers at the very heart of Australia’s early childhood education system.

Finalists will be recognised across the categories of Advancing Pedagogy and Practice, Outstanding Graduate, and Building Inclusion at a dinner on Friday 21 September 2018, where they will have a chance to win a share in $30 000 thanks to proud awards sponsor ME—the bank for you.
